Nigeria & global Covid-19 cases (02:00 WAT/03:00 CEST, Sunday 12 April)

According to Johns Hopkins University Whiting School of Engineering, there have been 318 confirmed coronavirus cases and 10 deaths in Nigeria, while 70 people in the country have recovered after contracting Covid-19.

The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases worldwide at the above time stood at 1,779,099, while 108,770 people have died from Covid-19 and 402,709 have recovered from the disease.

New death recorded in Lagos

The Commissioner for Health of Lagos state Prof. Akin Abayomi announced the news that another Covid-19 patient had died from complications from contracting the virus at a private clinic on Saturday. It is the fourth fatality from Coronavirus-related illnesses in Lagos. Abayomi added that seven patients had recovered and since been discharged. The total number of positive cases of infection in Lagos stands at 166.
