We have received many complaints from candidates who were unable to access their JAMB results days after writing the 2017 JAMB exam. We understand the frustration that comes with it. But one thing you need to understand is this is not new. It happens every year. We do not know the exact reasons it happens. According to JAMB, results suspected to be involved in any form of malpractice or irregularity are usually withheld for scrutiny. Now from experience, most of the withheld results are usually released a week or two after the end of the JAMB exams provided that such results are not linked to any form of irregularity or malpractice. So, if you have checked online and got a response like "No  Result Yet", just relax. Do not get overly panicked yet. Just keep checking  for your 2017 JAMB results . The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has debunked rumour of extension of the date of registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Head of JAMB Information and Media, dismissed the rumour in a statement issued to newsmen on Friday in Abuja. He urged candidates and parents to disregard rumour of extension of the date of registration. He said, “The Board has closed registration and there is no plan to extend the date. “The registration has not been extended except for those who had pins but couldn’t register as at May 5, when we closed registration. “These categories of Nigerians are allowed to register and a date will be set aside for them to write their examination.” Benjamin explained that the examinations had so far been conducted for 1,698,835 candidates, adding that the remaining 19,950 candidates would sit for the examination on Saturday, May 20. Malpractice: Over 10,000 candidates caught in Anambra, says JAMB The Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB) says more than 10,000 candidates caught for examination malpractices in the on-going UTME in Anambra have been handed over to appropriate authority. Mrs Lynda Nwachukwu, the Coordinator of the board in Anambra, disclosed this in Awka on Saturday. The computer-based testing (CBT) mode 2017 UTME, which started on May 13 in 642 centres nationwide, ended on May 20. Nwachukwu said that the examination, which took place in 28 centres in the state, was successful. “There was no disruption of the exercise in any of the examination centres,’’ she said.  The coordinator said that the candidates adhered strictly to the requirements of the examination, adding that JAMB provided all the materials required for the examination. AKURE PASTOR GOES TO JAIL      Cherubim and Seraphim (C&S) Church pastor, Waleola Sunday was on Wednesday sentenced to three years in jail. A Chief Magistrate Court in Akure, the Ondo State Capital, presided over by Mrs. Victoria Bob-Manuel handed down the sentence to the pastor after he was found guilty of child molestation.
