75-year-old grandmother arrested for pouring pepper into 11-year-old house help's genitals and eyes over juice and biscuit

A 75-year-old grandmother has been arrested by the Ebonyi State Police Command, for flogging and pouring pepper into the eyes and genitals of her 11-year-old house help. Mrs Comfort Obi was arrested by police officers from Ekumenyi Police Station on Tuesday April 14, after a neighbour, Mr Osita Ezechukwu reported the abuse.  The victim whose body was covered with scars from previous abuses, has been living with the elderly woman since her father who has an eye impairment cannot take care of her and her four siblings. It was further gathered that the abuse victim's mother is late.  Recounting her ordeal, the 11-year-old househelp said she was recently abused because she took the old woman's juice and biscuit.  She said;  “My Madam usually invites outsiders to flog me whenever I offend her. She also pours grinded pepper into my private part and eyes. This one she did to me now was because I was hungry and I took her bisc...

Police arrests mother and son for allegedly attempting to sell four-year-old boy in Niger (photo)

46-year-old Stella Idris pictured above and her 16-year-old son, Miracle and one other, 18 year old Ebube Ebuka, have been arrested by men of the Niger state police command for allegedly abducting and attempting to sell a four-year-old boy in Suleja local government area of the state. A statement released by the command says the father of the four-year-old boy had reported to the A’ Division in Suleja when he discovered that his son was missing. A team of policemen upon receipt of the complaint began their investigation after which they trailed the group based on suspicion, to the place where the transaction was supposed to take place. Upon seeing the police, the alleged buyer took to his heels and is still currently on the run. The suspects were arrested and are currently being investigated.

Former governor of Lagos state, Bola Tinubu has appealed to the federal government to protect Nigerians from hunger and other disease while fighting the Coronavirus pandemic.  The APC Chieftain stated that history will not be kind to the federal government if Nigerians go hungry amid the Coronavirus pandemic.  In a statement released on Wednesday April 15, Tinubu averred that social intervention programmes will only cater for small scale traders and leave out the average salary earners who lost their jobs because of the lockdown order.  The former Governor also called for the expansion of the school feeding programme and push for debt relief.  Tinubu said;  “We dare not underestimate the twin dangers posed by the virus itself and the economic consequences of the public health response.  Our goal must be that the people live neither with disease nor in hunger. COVID19: Nigerian doctor who tested negative after close contact with Kano index case of Coronavirus who lied about his travel history, shares his story

Dr James King, a Nigerian doctor practicising in Kano state, who had close contact with the index case of COVID-19 in the state, has shared his experience. Dr King in a post shared on social media on Thursday morning, said the index case hid his travel history from the doctors when he came in to report a case of fever and headache and in the process, exposed them to the virus. It was later discovered he had traveled to Germany and the US before arriving Kano state via Abuja on March 25th. The doctors , nurses and a non-medical staff who had contacts with the index case, went into isolation and were tested for the virus. Davido has promised to better the life of one of his followers who named his son after the singer. The follower, who calls himself "Davido twin" and shares a little resemblance with the singer, according to Twitter users, shared a photo online and told Davido that he named his newborn baby after him because of the admiration he has for him. "My wife just gave birth to a bouncing baby boy and I named him David cos of the love I have for @davido and I want him to be successful like @davido. King David come and bless my son ooo," the Twitter user wrote. Davido responded: "Show me proof !! And I’ll make ur life a living proof that OBO DEY !!!" Man narrates his hilarious experience while guarding his street from robbers amid lockdown

The increased robbery attacks amid the Coronavirus lockdown has seen residents taking their security into their own hands. One man has now narrated his experience while guarding his street with other men in the neighborhood. @iykeville90 said he will no longer continue with the vigilante exercise he's been voluntarily engaging in to protect residents from the "one million boys", and he went on to narrate the experience he had last night that made him arrive at this decision. Super Eagles and Lille striker, Victor Osimhen has revealed he rejected a move to England to play for Arsenal after speaking with the club's former coach, Arsene Wenger. The 21-year-old inform striker first came to Europe in January 2016 when he joined Wolfsburg following his impressive Under 17 World Cup performances.  At the Under 17 World Cup, Osimhen helped Nigeria clinched a fifth Under-17 World Cup title in 2015 and was the top scorer with 10 goals. He won the Golden Boot as well as Silver Ball and was awarded to the second-best player of the tournament. The rising star has now disclosed that he had several clubs including Arsenal coming for him after the Under-17 World Cup in Chile.  According to him, he rejected Arsenal after speaking with Wenger and decided to move to Germany because it was better for his development.
